On the coast of Western Australia, some 800km north of Perth, you will find one of the most amazing places on the planet to interact with dolphins. This place is the small resort of Monkey Mia. The resort of Monkey Mia is situated in the Shark Bay Marine Park, which is a World Heritage site. Monkey Mia has a range of accommodation to suit most budgets, all of it very close to the sandy beach, several bars and resaturants, a resort pool and hot tub and a small gift shop.
However, it is the dolphins of Monkey Mia that most people come to see. A group of dolphins visit the beach at Monkey Mia every morning, where a controlled feeding takes place every morning at 8am and again at 1pm. The dolphins have only missed visiting the beach for four days during a five year period, so you have an excellent chance of being able to get close to these amazing marine mammals and, if you are very lucky, you could be chosen to feed one of the dolphins with a fish!
